Outreach New Orleans: Day Two

The drive out to New Orleans was simple and unadventurous, which in this case was good! After settling in we were able to enjoy the Louisiana cuisine of Pizza Hut! A good night sleep on the bunks got everyone prepared for the fun that we walked into this morning.

Working with the host church, All Nations Fellowship, we got tasked to scrap and prime the walls of the church building. This sanctuary was under 12 feet of water during hurricane Katrina almost 5 years ago. By the end of the day, our team got to see the progress that a hard day of work can produce.

Sitting around the cafeteria area at the School of Urban Missions, shrimp and chicken in our bellies, we know that there’s a lot of work waiting for us tomorrow morning. Please support us as we ask God to give us strength each and every day this week.

Quote of the Day: While Megan and Will were playing a card game called “slap jacks”, “Will and Megan are holding hands! (Megan moves her hand) Yeah, Megan had the most to lose in this scenario.”

Thank you for the hard work you do. A special blessing goes out today to Ryan and Erin on their 8th wedding anniversary! I was blessed when Ryan was born and I was his Godmother, and doubly blessed with his marriage to the wonderful Erin. (And too many blessings to count with the births of his children!) Love always, Aunt Linda
