WINNERS UPDATE: We’ve drawn the 3 winners from the comments posted on this blog post. Congratulations to Dianna Gill, Robert Dean and Ethan Spivey for being the winners of this drawing. Huge thanks to everyone who posted and shared their artistic ability.

After 17 years of ministry, Gary Molander felt the pull to move outside the walls of the church. Gary went on to found Floodgate Productions and is creating art to make an invisible God visible to all those around him. On episode 72 of The Collision Podcast, Gary shares about his book “Pursuing Christ. Creating Art.” We’re giving away 3 copies of this incredible book here on the blog. Here’s how you enter to win:

We want to know, “What creativity or artistic ability do you feel God created in you?” This can be traditional art, music or anything that you feel God has gifted you in. Use either commenting system at the bottom of this blog to enter to win.

We’ll be drawing 3 winners at midnight on May 21, 2012. We’ll announce the winners here on the blog and will contact you if your name is drawn.

I am soooo inspired by art, but I’m not as artistically gifted as I wish.

He has given me the ability to tell stories and connect to others through writing.

God’s also gifted me with ideas, so I’m always thinking up some new thing (I only act on a few though).

This would be a great read.

I feel like God has gifted me to write.

I feel God has gifted me to write. Also, I feel God has gifted me to lead, which I’ve learned from Gary is an art form as well.

I enjoy organizing and putting together music, Scripture, words, and prayer so that everything flows together thematically and worshipfully. I enjoy seeing things come together–I don’t play any instuments (yet), but I love watching each part fit in its place–voices and instruments. And I enjoy writing and capturing ideas in words in a structured, yet creative way. I also enjoy designing simple things (fliers, brochures, etc.) on the computer–and improving other’s designs and ideas.

God has given me a creative mind. I can come up with the some of the greatest design ideas all day long, but I’m lacking when it comes to expressing the ideas. I don’t see myself as artistic at all.

I am always inspired by art no matter what forms in come in. I am very expressive when it comes to artistic forms. Currently I am a freelancing graphic designer who wants to go into web design and particularly advertising.

I have a philosophy about art. My philosophy about art is: “No matter where you go, there will always be art. We are considered art because our Creator created us. I believe not enough people realize where everything comes from. With the many languages such as English, Spanish, French, and German spoken to me it can be hard to grasp their meanings. But through everything, everything is derived from art.”

And I strongly believe that God has given me the talent and gift of sharing and ministering the story of Jesus through art whether I am the one creating the art or the other people are. I just want to show people how much of an insight it is to come in contact with the beauty of what is around us in rembrance of just how beautiful, magnificent, and how wonderful our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is. I love the thought of just thinking about it.

Thanks everyone for participating in this giveaway on the Collision Blog! It was inspiring to read all the ways that people are creating art around the country. Continue creating great art and we hope to see some of you in August for the Collision Art Gallery.
