Monday Motivation: In this Moment

Disclaimer: If you’re looking for a super spiritual post that will give you new revalation, please don’t stop here. If you’re looking for that little reminder to give perspective in what you’re currently going through, then I hope you continue reading.

This minute that you are currently living will never happen again. There was a time period in my life where this idea would have freaked me out and made me mildly depressed. I would have wasted even more minutes lamenting on the minute that I had lost.

It’s a fact that we’ll never get this minute back and at some point in my late twenty’s I became OK with that. I became OK with this idea because I stopped living life as a victim and started asking “What am I going to do with the next minute?”

At some point in our lives we have to stop having the mentality that the past can change or that we’ve been victimized by past actions (or the actions of others). We have to grow up and take responsibility for moving forward in this life.

No matter what you face in this moment, no matter what you’re going through in this season of life, no matter what is in the past; are you ready to do something about the future? While this minute just passed, you have another that hasn’t been created yet.

I encourage you to take time to do something extraordinary for God. Take time to tell someone that they are loved. Take time to listen without talking about yourself. Take time to pray about those things that you’ve held back from God. Take time to enjoy nature and what God gave us. Take time to invest in someone who is in need of guidance. Take time to live this new minute, because it’s one that you’ll never get back.
